Chartwells School Dining Services brings fresh ideas and innovative concepts to school dining services.
We serve approximately 2.5 million students in schools across the country.
Most of the foodservice operations are governed by the National School Lunch and Breakfast Program and,
therefore, strictly adhere to USDA meal planning guidelines.
Feeding safe and healthy meals to children has always been Chartwells' number one priority.
Our programs are: based on strong nutrition guidelines and principles; focused on culinary
methods that result in healthy foods that are appealing to children; and emphasize the use of locally
and seasonally grown fruits and vegetables.
Nourishing students is not only our business; it's our commitment to the communities in which we
serve. Chartwells is a diverse family of dedicated food and nutrition specialists serving the academic
community. We emphasize fruits, vegetables, whole grains, low-fat dairy, lean meats, plant-based
proteins and limit sodium, bad fats and sugar. Our comprehensive wellness program, "Balanced Choices,"
establishes nutrition standards that meet or exceed gold level status of the Healthier US School
Challenge.
